Reflection
Don Herold’s words cut close: “Unhappiness is not knowing what we want and killing ourselves to get it.” So much of our exhaustion comes not from working hard, but from working hard toward the wrong goal. We chase promotions, approval, or possessions, hoping they’ll finally satisfy us, yet the ache remains, because we never paused to ask what we’re truly made for.
Scripture reminds us that lasting peace isn’t found in restless striving but in seeking God first. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
When we anchor our desires in Him, our pursuits gain clarity, and our hearts find rest. Today, pause. Ask God what He wants for you — and let that quiet your striving.
