November Energy and Planning

It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.

— Eleanor Roosevelt —

Reflection

The opening quote is so accurate.

I, for one, also know that it takes more energy to live from a wish than to live from a plan.

I spent five years battling addiction on my own–wishing and “willing” it would just go away.

I spent most of my waking hours fixating on getting high and figuring out how to stop getting high…it was an exhausting way to live.

If that last sentence doesn’t make sense to you–congratulations–you most likely have not suffered from an addiction.

Then I sought help from the “Master Planner.” He guided me to experts who could help me plan to combat my disease one day at a time.

Today that plan is an energy-producing habit that pours into all aspects of my life.

If you spend excessive time wishing, write your wish on a piece of paper; that is the first step in the planning process.

Proverbs 16:3, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

Proverbs 21:5, “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.”
