Grit and Bear It – Day 30 – Finish Strong

The race is not to the swift... but to those who keep running.

— Ecclesiastes paraphrase —

Reflection:

I hope this month-long journey through grit was both refreshing and inspiring for you—it certainly was for me.

There’s no better way to wrap it up than by talking about finishing strong.

Last week, I took on a 30-mile bike ride in sweltering heat—temps hovering in the low 90s. I packed three water bottles and some electrolyte powder, but by mile 25, I was running on fumes.

Still, I pushed.

Finishing strong is a habit I’ve built into every workout. And on that brutal ride, despite being spent physically and mentally, during the last mile, I cranked the pedals harder than I thought I could.

To my surprise, and thanks to my grit, I found that there was more in the tank than I had previously thought.

…this happens every time I commit to finishing strong. 🙂

It may not always be pretty or perfect, but grit finishes. And that’s what God honors: faithfulness to the finish.

Soul Search:

What does finishing strong look like for you this month?
