Grit and Bear It – Day 14 – Keep Showing Up

The will to win is nothing without the will to prepare.

Reflection

I’ve decided to jump back into triathlon training with a Sprint race on the calendar for mid-August. I’m in decent shape, but I’ll need these next two months to rebuild my swim cardio. I enjoy running and biking, but swimming feels like a monotonous grind—back and forth in a pool isn’t my idea of fun. Still, if I want to cross the finish line at the Cincy Triathlon on August 17, the boring laps are non-negotiable. That’s where grit shows up.

Grit isn’t glamorous—it’s built in silence, sweat, and repetition.

It’s easy to show up when you’re fired up, but real growth happens when motivation fades and you keep going anyway.

Champions are made in early mornings, lonely workouts, and quiet discipline.

The ones who win are the ones who refuse to quit when no one’s watching.

Keep preparing.

Keep showing up.

That’s where true victory is forged.

BTW…I wrote this one for me. 🙂

Where is God asking for more preparation and discipline?
