Forgiveness is so powerful yet so difficult.
A few years ago I had a very close friend/accountability partner behave outside the bounds of integrity. I called him out on his behavior and he refused to listen. He acted as if I was out of line for confronting him.
This incident generated much anger in my heart…
- Anger usually arises from control issues.
- Anger left unattended, is poison to an addict.
After fuming with anger for a few days, I began to pray for God to give me the willingness to forgive my once very close friend. Eventually, I forgave him and moved on.
I learned years ago that whenever I allow my anger towards someone to stand between me and my serenity, that person is standing closer to my serenity than I am.
Is there something or someone stealing you of your serenity?
Maybe it’s time to forgive.
