Purpose & Spiritual Condition

The most fortunate people on earth are those who have found a calling that’s bigger than they are—that moves them and fills their lives with constant passion, aliveness, and growth.

The EagleLaunch focalPOINT 2016 theme is “Making the most of Ourselves.”

Over the next several weeks I will be taking you through a step by step process in creating a Vision (dream with a plan) for your life that is aligned and grounded in your Purpose (what you are here for) and your Principles (what you stand for).

To have a calling that is bigger than ourselves requires being grounded in a power that is bigger than ourselves…

Identifying whose we are is critical in identifying who we are.

Do you believe there is a power greater than you?

Do you tap into this power?

Do you reach out to this power when you are being challenged?

Do you give credit to this power when things are going well?

One thing I have found to be true for me over the years is one of us–meaning me or God, has to take the lead role in my life. When I take the lead role, my life becomes all about me and things don’t seem to go as well. When I allow God to take the lead role, my life becomes all about Him and things seem to go a lot better.

I am so grateful for the many words of wisdom I received when I was in early recovery for my alcohol and drug addiction but the words that rang most true to me were, “our sobriety is contingent upon our spiritual condition.”

In other words, for me to stay sober I had to believe in and tap into a power greater than me on an ongoing basis.

Today I know that the effectiveness of my life is contingent upon my spiritual condition.

Surrendering to Whose I am has become a daily discipline for me that better enables me to become better at knowing who I am and living it.

Do you believe a power greater than you is responsible for your existence?

If so, does your life represent the presence of this power?

Is your life more about Him than it is about you?

More to follow tomorrow.
