Wheel of Life – Mental & Fear

Fear is the main source of superstition, and one of the main sources of cruelty. To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.

— Bertrand Russell —

Over the next few weeks we will be studying excerpts from my book, “FEAR – PROOF” as we look at how damaging fear can be to the Mental component of our Wheel of Life.

You become what you think about the most. Taking control of the mental component of your Wheel of Life is a key ingredient of living a life of purpose while realizing your dreams.

Fear gets us to not try, to not trust, to second guess, to compare ourselves to others, to seek escapes through various addictions, to hold resentments, to give up, to feel inferior, to act in anger, to profess to know it all, to be judgmental, to get us to feel sorry for ourselves, to feel guilt, to feel shame…I could go on and on and on.

God easily counters all of the aforementioned character defects, but the devil somehow convinces us we have no character defects, or they aren’t that bad, or they are so bad we are not worthy of God’s mercy, power, protection and strength.

I always write from experience and the years and actions leading to my downfall due to addiction were pretty much fear induced.  You don’t have to be an addict to be controlled and dominated by fear.  I see a fair share of “normal” people who live their life walking in fear-induced quick sand.

My transformation and evolution to where I am today would not have happened if I had not developed healthy ways to deal with my fears.

Over the next few weeks we will be looking at the various faces fear disguises itself as, and how to conquer it.
