Guiding Principles & Fruit

It is simply with an open mind and heart that serenity naturally encompasses us...without it, you can never be your authentic self...

My goal over the next several weeks is to help you find your authentic self (see Boulet’s quote above).  And if you already know who you are and why you exist, then my hope is this process will give you even more clarity, focus and peace while you’re on this journey called life.

For those of you who are creating an entirely different and new playing field and beginning to have second thoughts on your ability to execute, I encourage you to “play into” this new way of living.

We are never able to think or talk our way out of old behavior; instead we must behave our way out of it.

Finding your life purpose and living it is a process it is not an event.

“Life’s a journey, not a destination.” (“Amazing” Steven Tyler/Aerosmith)

The last couple of days I’ve encouraged you to jot some guiding principles down.  In order for us to know what we are here for it is important to define what we stand for.

Remember, these principles will guide you on your decision making process and your decisions create the life you live and the life you live throws off “fruit.”

What type of “fruit” would you like for your life to throw off?

The fruit I’m talking about does not come in the form of things, degrees or awards.  The fruit I’m talking about is your behavior and how it affects others.

I can remember reading the following scripture many years ago when I decided I needed to change and ever since that point in time I’ve been trying my best to “live into” this scripture and produce this kind of fruit:

“But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us:  love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”  (Galatians 5:21 NLT)

When I’m generating the type of fruit noted in Galatians above, I’m living in serenity and creating serenity for others…I’m still a work in progress. 🙂

Your fruit is determined by your actions and your actions are determined by your thoughts and your thoughts are determined by what you believe and value (guiding principles).
