What are you going to do about it?

Whatever life offers us, we get to decide what to focus on, what it means, and what we're going to do about it.

— Tony Robbins —

Reread the opening quote.

Regardless of what is going on in your life, having inner peace is a decision derived from the answers to three questions when faced with a challenging situation.

  1. Where is your focus?
  2. Why is your focus there?
  3. What are you going to do about whatever is holding your focus captive?

Sitting in a state of anxiety is a choice.

So is sitting in a state of peace.

Hint…The first step in answering question three is turning the challenge over to God in prayer.

1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

Journal your thoughts:

What am I grateful for today?

In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?

What will I deny myself so I may draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?

Prayer:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.

Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.

Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will.

That I may be reasonably happy in this life, and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen.

(Serenity Prayer – Reinhold Niebuhr)
