Vision with Purpose

When you realize God’s purpose for your life isn’t just about you, He will use you in a mighty way.

— Dr. Tony Evans —

January is over. How many of you made a New Year’s resolution? How many of you have been able to stick with it?

Habits are very hard to change.

There is an emotional rush present in the initial stages of making a commitment to making positive life changes and this rush is fueled throughout the planning and preparation process.

It’s always exciting to go out and buy new workout clothes or equipment and to buy healthy food…but then you have to use it and/or eat it…not as exciting.

The emotional rush is always fun but the work, well the work isn’t so fun.

Over the next several weeks of devotionals I will be spending time taking a look at what it takes to create a life of purpose and vision. A life fueled by your passions, and strengths while being grounded in your principles and priorities.

When we know what we are here for (our purpose) and what we stand for (our guiding principles) the goals we set in order to improve ourselves take on new meaning and then the work and effort we must put forth to improve no longer is viewed as work but simply important steps in fulfilling our earthly purpose.

Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (ESV)
