Undo Habits

A bad habit never disappears miraculously. It's an undo-it-yourself project.

Question

What habits do you need to undo?

Suggestions

Here are some quick tips about undoing habits:

  1. If you have more than one you’d like to quit, take them one at a time. Focus on the easiest one first.
  2. Replace the habit you are undoing with something that adds positive energy to your life—perhaps replacing internet surfing with a walk or feeling down about yourself with helping someone in need.
  3. Pray continuously for God to give you the strength to overcome the habit you are trying to undo.
  4. Don’t beat yourself up when you slip because you will most likely slip. Have a game plan for how you will mentally handle your slips.
  5. Rinse and repeat.

Living a good life is about developing the proper habits and keeping the bad ones in check.

Proverbs 25:28, “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.”
