Exercise accomplishes many things for me. It gives me energy for the day. It keeps the weight off (I love to eat). It keeps the committee in my head quiet. It takes me to another place…we all have that “place†which is where our spirit gets in touch with our maker’s spirit.
This past week I noticed my ability to exercise effectively was just not right and therefore my week was just not right.
So anyway, yesterday morning I’m on my treadmill because the weather was too cold for this 54 year OLD man. For years I hated running on a treadmill but over the past several years I’ve found it to be enjoyable because I can watch my favorite television personality, Joyce Meyer, preach. But yesterday I had the television turned to the news as I was following the Boston Marathon terrorist attack.
As I began running I felt really bad. In fact every workout this week was a pain and somewhat torturous for me to complete. After catching up on the news I turned my television channel to listen to some workout music…70’s hard rock of course!  Suddenly my mind went to that “place†and I felt energy. After about 10 minutes of running I really began feeling good mentally and suddenly I was off to the “races” and burned 600 calories over the next hour.  Mission accomplished!
The moral of this story…I’ve been watching WAY TOO MUCH NEWS!
I know I often give the devil too much credit for all that is wrong in the world, but I believe he lives in the news.
There are other places the devil loves us to go for mindless, worthless, wandering and many of those places are on the internet. Â The devil will use any person, place or thing he can to distract us.

I’ve had readers ask me where I come up with this stuff I write about. Today you’ve found the answer…it is simply crap I struggle with and when I find a solution I feel compelled to share it because I love to tick that darn devil off by helping people get better.
