Reflection
I’m a hat guy.
In fact, the other day, I told Lori that when I die and our kids are rifling through my “stuff,” they will find that I wasn’t just an opioid addict but also a hat and leather journal addict…I have hundreds of each.
Recently I purchased a hat from “Froning Farms.” The owner of Froning Farms is Rich Froning, who is the former World Crossfit Champion.
On the front of the hat reads, “Into The Storm.”
Froning Farms raise bison, and bison, when faced with a storm, instinctively runs towards it, knowing that this approach will reduce the amount of energy exerted in battling the storm.
Facts
With life comes storms and trials.
We can run from them and attempt to avoid them, which usually only prolongs our pain and anguish, or we can buckle down and walk right through them as they dig up our “soil” and help us get to know ourselves a little bit better (see the opening quote.).
AND…if we ask God to join us while trudging through our storms, we will get to know Him a little better too.
Needless to say, I’ve learned a whole lot about myself and God these past two years…and I have the hat to prove it.
Nahum 1:7, “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.”
