The Way It Is

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you deal with the way it is makes all the difference.

Reflection

A couple of days ago, a friend of mine, whom I will refer to as Animo, notified me that she would be undergoing treatment for the C-word and sought support in her faith journey as she was preparing for battle.

A few days prior, our friend Bob informed me that he had just celebrated the first anniversary of his bone marrow transplant and that his cancer was in remission.

Bob recently rejoined the workforce in his new-normal state.

When I saw the opening quote, my mind shifted to my friends above.

I’m sure neither of them thought that what they were going through was the way it’s “supposed to be.”

Random Thoughts

Please help me out.

How is life supposed to be?

Maybe it’s supposed to be the way it is, even if we don’t think it is supposed to be.

The challenges of life are a bit easier to navigate when we let go of our “supposed to be’s” and simply embrace and make the most of the way it is.

Please continue your prayers for Bob while adding Animo to your prayer list.
