Most sports fans associate the quote “Play like a champion today” with Notre Dame football and famed Coach Lou Holtz. But did you know that the quote actually goes back as far as the 1940s to the Oklahoma Sooners and Coach Bud Wilkinson? That’s just a little fun trivia, but it’s worth noting that for decades, two coaches (a.k.a. leaders) at the highest level of college athletics have motivated their players with this mantra.
Play like a champion today.
