Taking Action – Day 8 – The Dailies

You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.

— John C. Maxwell —

Reflection

We tend to look for the dramatic turning point — the breakthrough, the life-changing event, the moment everything shifts. But most lives are shaped not by their dramatic moments but by their ordinary ones.

What you do every day accumulates…

  • Morning devotion.
  • Ten minutes of reading.
  • Daily exercise.
  • Gratitude list.
  • A phone call to someone who needs to hear from you.

The same is true in the other direction…

  • Daily complaints.
  • Hours of mindless scrolling.
  • Postponed conversations.
  • Resentments held tightly.
  • Comparing ourselves to others.

These also accumulate.

You don’t have to overhaul your life today. But you might ask: what one daily habit could I strengthen, and what one could I release?

Soul Search

  • What does my daily routine say about my priorities?
  • What small daily action would have the greatest compounding effect over the next year?

Scripture: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23 (NIV)
