Taking Action – Day 6 – Purposeful Movement

Living on purpose means choosing your actions before your circumstances choose them for you.

Reflection:

My consulting work ebbs and flows. During busy stretches, I’m focused and dialed in. When things slow down, my mind wanders, and I find myself easily distracted and focused on things that don’t matter…I was in that easily distracted place just a couple of days ago. 🙂

I’ll be honest, I can drift into laziness and autopilot faster than you might think. That’s exactly why I make it a habit to set my goals the night before, so I wake up with a clear plan and a good chance at taking purposeful action throughout the day.

Facts:

On those days, we aren’t intentional; if we aren’t careful, life will simply happen to us. And always remember, there are four (4) types of “happening” people in the world:

  1. Those who make things happen,
  2. Those who watch things happen,
  3. Those who complain about everything that happens.
  4. Those who eventually wake up and ask, “What just happened?”

Choose #1

Soul Search:

  • Am I living by design or by default?
  • What one intentional choice would most change the shape of my days?

Scripture: “Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity.” — Ephesians 5:15–16 (NIV)
