Taking Action – Day 18 – The Gift of Focus

Where focus goes, energy flows.

— Tony Robbins —

Reflection

We live in an age of relentless distraction. Notifications, alerts, headlines, and a thousand voices; all competing for the same sliver of our attention.

The result is that many of us are technically busy all day and genuinely productive for only a fraction of it.

Focus is a gift, and like most gifts, it must be chosen and cultivated.

It doesn’t just happen.

You create it by removing what competes with it, by designating time for what matters most, and by practicing the uncomfortable art of staying with one thing long enough for it to go deep.

Deep work produces deep results. The people who make things happen in their families, their communities, their fields of work are rarely the most frantic. They are the most focused.

What deserves your undivided attention today?

Soul Search:

  • What is competing most aggressively for my attention right now?
  • What would change if I gave my best focus to my most important priorities?

“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.” Proverbs 4:25 (NIV)
