A couple of “book mentors” of mine; John Maxwell and Jim Collins have summarized leadership and the art of leading into 5 levels.
Although their summaries are a little different, each of them define  “Level 5 leading” in very similar fashion.
Maxwell’s Level 5:Â People follow you because of who you are and what you represent.
Collins’ Level 5: Level 5 leaders have a paradoxical combination of personal humility and professional will.
Both of these level 5’s are reached through the ongoing progression of learning how to care about others at least as much, and a little more than you care about yourself, combined with a dogged passion for learning more and more about what it is you are doing.
Leading others effectively, whether it is a business or your family or a sports team, begins with leading and growing yourself effectively.
