Quote Reflection
A couple of my “book mentors,” John Maxwell and Jim Collins, have summarized leadership and the art of leading into five levels.
Although their summaries differ slightly, each defines “Level 5 leading” similarly.
Maxwell’s Level 5: People follow you because of who you are and what you represent.
Collins’ Level 5: Level 5 leaders have a paradoxical combination of personal humility and professional will.
Meyer’s Level 5: A Level 5 leader is as passionate about growing others as he is about growing himself.
By the way, this past week blessed me with two full days of helping leaders grow, which in turn facilitated my ability to be superior to my former self.
Luke 14:11, “For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
