Superior “Self”

There is nothing noble about being superior to some other man. The true nobility is in being superior to your previous self.

— Hindu Proverb —

How do we become superior to our previous self?

It is pretty simple and is at the foundation of my life coaching formula; know your priorities, know your principles and try your best to live them without wavering a day at a time.  Having your priorities and principles in order and in agreement will lead you to your higher purpose.

Our lives get screwed up when we chase our dream or higher purpose without knowing and being in agreement with our key priorities and principles.  For example, on more than one occasion the “committee in my head” has started formulating a plan for me to run for U.S. Congress but when I look at my priorities today (one of them is to spend more time with my son Jordan) and my principles (I try my best to live in the truth) I can easily tell my “committee” to go find another nominee. 🙂

How is your “self” looking these days?  Is it superior to your previous self?  If not, maybe it’s time you prioritized and principilized your life.
