Reflection
I believe I have shared with you all that I have a couple of heart ailments, and the best medicine for each of these ailments is exercise.
The heart is a muscle, and exercise is the best way to strengthen the heart muscle.
Thus, the reason I am somewhat of an exercise fanatic.
I have a minimum daily exercise regimen to help keep my heart strong:
- Forty-five minutes of aerobic exercise
- Fifteen minutes of resistance training
- Fifteen minutes of cooling down and stretching
Back to the opening quote…
How can we be in the midst of chaos and be calm in our hearts?
We have to strengthen the spiritual aspect of our heart daily through:
- Prayer
- Scripture reading
- Meditation
- Journaling
Peace isn’t something that just happens.
Peace comes from strengthening our hearts daily.
Proverbs 4:23, “Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.”
Journal your thoughts:
What am I grateful for today?
In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?
What will I deny myself so I may draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?
Prayer:
God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
