Strength and What We Stand For

Our strength is seen in the things we stand for; our weakness is seen in the things we fall for.

— Theodore Epp —

As much as the thought of having to spend five weeks of my life in a chemical dependency center is embarrassing to me, it was actually the most valuable five weeks I’ve lived to date.

I learned so much about myself…some good…some not so good.

A huge epiphany took place when my counselor helped me identify a character trait that wasn’t doing me any good. I was a chameleon. I was very good at adapting to those who surrounded me–their opinions and beliefs became my opinions and beliefs.

I’ve come a long way since that moment in my history almost 33 years ago.

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “If you don’t know what you stand for, you’ll fall for anything.”

Today, I know what and Whom I stand for…it’s a much simpler way to live.

Finding what you stand for is one of several valuable exercises you will go through if you choose to join me for some virtual life coaching on Thursday evenings beginning May 7th.

Email me at jay@jmeyerstrategies.com if you’d like to join. Please feel free to invite friends, family, and professional colleagues.

This process works for everyone who works it.

There is no age, demographic, or economic limitations for this process.

…back to the opening quote and what and Whom I stand for today…

Joshua 24:15, “As for me and my house, we will (try my best to…) serve the Lord.”
