Building Endurance and Joy

Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.

— Walter Elliot —

When troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy, for you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.  So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.  James 1:2-4

I really leaned on the above scripture earlier this week.

My mom fell and broke her hip which caused her extreme pain and discomfort until a surgeon was able to repair it.

When this unfortunate event happened, I told Lori, “Life has a way of making you pivot and change direction in an instant.”

The cool thing is with the Holy Spirit residing inside, no matter what direction we go, in whatever instant our life direction changes–He is there to guide us if we call.

Life is not about having everything go our way.

Life is an endurance race made up of many short races, and enduring the short races with faith leads to completeness and the need for nothing…a very peaceful place to be.

How is your faith?

How is your endurance?

How is your joy?
