Storm Sailing

I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning how to sail my ship.

— Louisa May Alcott —

I became a much better “sailor” because of 2019 (see opening quote).

For those of you who have just recently begun reading my blog–2019 was a tough year for my family and me.

As I reflect back on that period in my life I am certain of one thing–my faith in God grew stronger.

The storms of life have a tendency of getting us to question God and His whereabouts. His opposition is the ultimate “storm chaser,” and is always trying to separate us from Him, Difficult times serve as a playground for the devil and his schemes.

I’m grateful I didn’t question God’s whereabouts in 2019. I knew He was present and called on and/or yelled at Him often.

God doesn’t always prevent or remove our storms but He is always available to provide us the strength and resilience to fight through…and become even better sailors.

James 1:2-3, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.”

I didn’t care for 19 much either. Sorry to hear it was a tough one for you and the family. I hope you at least take comfort in knowing, as always, your show of vulnerability ALWAYS helps and inspires those who follow you. Resilience!
