Victory

Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.

— Ralph Waldo Emerson —

 Emerson’s quote is so powerful.

It is impossible to make the most of ourselves and be who God made us to be if we always have our defenses up and are unwilling to handle critique and criticism.

When someone contradicts you or doesn’t agree with you, you have a choice of playing the victim or the victor.

We all face criticism and contrary points of view.

Do you learn from these situations and grow (victor), or do you get defensive and shrink (victim)?

Prayer for the day:  Heavenly Father, thank you for who I am. Please give me the ability to rise above any and all negativity that is trying to prevent me from being who you called me to be. It’s in your Son’s name I pray. Amen.

Deuteronomy 20:4, “For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.”
