reVision and Far Off*

Taking action towards fulfilling a calling God has for you will not only impact the here and now but future generations that follow.

Reflection

A couple of days ago I received an email from a friend who is the founder of a recovery ministry for addicts and alcoholics.

Lori and I have supported this ministry for several years and it warmed my heart as my friend proudly described the amazing success of his ministry that was once nothing but a dream.

In his email, he shared how much the ministry had grown and some changes they were making to assure that it would be set to grow well into the future.

Its “growth” is all about changing the world by changing one addict and alcoholic at a time.

One of this ministry’s key personnel is a former addict who once thought he had no hope and wanted to die. He was one of the first to go through my friend’s recovery program. Think about what my friend’s “acted upon vision” did for this man, the recovery ministry, this man’s family, other families and future generations to come.

Thought

My friend had a vision several years ago about making a positive impact on the world of addiction.

He decided to do something about the vision and got to work.

My friend is a very strong Christ follower, so I’m assuming his first order of business was to put the vision in God’s hands.

I’m rambling but…

What is God calling you to do outside your normal daily routine?

What is God calling you to do that makes you feel uncomfortable?

As you are reVisioning for 2021 why not take a step toward making God’s calling for you, your calling?

Pray about it.

Do something about it.

God’s callings are not for the here and now.

He equips us to do things that impact people, places, and things we will never know or see.

That’s how God works.

Let Him do His works through you by acting on your dream in 2021.

With Him, it will impact someone or something in 2121.

I am certain.

Acts 2:39, “The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

…notice the above scripture includes, “for all who are far off.”
