Reflection
Years ago, this time of year, I received an email from a friend who was the founder of a recovery ministry for addicts and alcoholics.
Lori and I have supported this ministry for several years, and it warmed my heart as my friend proudly described the fantastic success of his ministry, which was once nothing but a dream.
In his email, he shared how much the ministry had grown and some changes they were making to ensure its continued growth.
Its “growth” is all about changing the world by changing one addict and alcoholic at a time.
One of this ministry’s key personnel is a former addict who once thought he had no hope and wanted to die. He was among the first to go through my friend’s recovery program. Think about what my friend’s “acted upon vision” did for this man, the recovery ministry, this man’s family, other families, and future generations.
Thought
My friend had a vision several years ago about positively impacting the world of addiction.
He decided to do something about the vision and got to work.
My friend is a firm Christ follower, so I assume his first order of business was to give God the vision.
I’m rambling, but…
What is God calling you to do outside your regular daily routine?
What is God calling you to do that makes you feel uncomfortable?
As you reflect and project what 2025 can look like for you, why not take a step toward making God’s calling for you your calling?
Pray about it.
Do something about it.
God’s callings are not for the here and now.
He equips us to do things that impact people, places, and things we may never know or see.
That’s how God works.
Let Him do His works through you by acting on your dream in 2025.
Acts 2:39, “The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
Notice that the above scripture includes “for all who are far off.”
