Regrets and Buckets

Discipline weighs ounces, regret weighs tons.

This quote reminds me of the movie “The Bucket List.”

Do you have a “bucket list?”

Many years ago I made up my mind I wanted to have no regrets when I went to my grave.  I’ve never had a very lengthy bucket list because once I decide there is something I want to do, I usually create a plan and get after it…as long as it aligns with my purpose, priorities and principles.

But, as humans we often get so immersed in our own bucket lists we seem to forget there is a more important bucket list we need to set our sights on.  That is our bucket list of things we need to do for God while we are still breathing air.

What is pretty cool is when your bucket list for personal goals aligns with your bucket list for God goals.

Luke 12:33-34, “Sell your possessions, and give to the need.  Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (ESV)

Matthew 5:12, “Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”  (ESV)
