Recovery Month – Day 25 – Live Sorry

Don't just say sorry. Live sorry.

— Unknown —

Reflection:

At first glance, the opening quote may sound heavy—even morbid—but it holds a powerful truth.

In recovery, making amends is not simply about uttering the words “I’m sorry.” Words are easy. Actions are what matter.

True amends mean taking full accountability for the harm caused, doing what you can to make it right, and then refusing to repeat the same behavior that led you there in the first place.

Living sorry is not about shame; it’s about transformation. It’s about proving through consistent choices that you are no longer the same person who caused the hurt. Every day becomes an opportunity to live in a way that honors those amends—through honesty, humility, and integrity.

Apologies may open the door, but changed behavior keeps it open.

Real amends aren’t spoken once; they’re lived daily in the way we show up for others and ourselves.

Soul Search:

Where can I live out my amends today?

Matthew 3:8 – “Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.”
