Reflection
When that opening quote surfaced, it took me back to the moment I finally acted on God’s push to leave my pharmacy career. On paper, I had everything—money, title, recognition, comfort. And then came the unmistakable nudge: It’s time to move on.
Looking back fifteen years later, that single act of obedience opened the door to absolute clarity about my purpose. It didn’t arrive overnight. It unfolded as I kept doing the next right thing—day by day—helping people grow, live fully, and become disciples.
My purpose statement, “Inspire others to Dream More, Be More, and Live in the Light More,” didn’t take shape until I was nearly sixty. But that’s how God works. Thirty years in pharmacy, years of recovery, and a lifetime of leading my family—all of it refined me for the moment I was ready to step into what He created me to do.
And now, incredibly, I can feel Him inviting me to take yet another step toward solidifying that purpose… 2026 will be another year of change and growth in my professional life. I used to get anxious about these God nudges, now He simply feels like my Coach pushing me to more growth…at least he doesn’t yell at me like some of my coaches did. 🙂
Facts
Most people try to find their purpose by chasing achievement, applause, or a sense of personal satisfaction.
But God-sized purpose doesn’t begin with striving; it begins with surrender.
When we stop trying to force our way forward and let God lead, our purpose becomes less about performance and more about obedience.
Jesus entered the world in total humility—a baby in a feeding trough—showing us that purpose starts low before it rises high.
Surrender isn’t weakness; it’s clarity.
When we loosen our grip on our own plans, we create space for God’s calling to take root.

- Where am I clinging to control that belongs to God?
- Where is God asking me to release my plans so He can reveal His?
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
