Reflection
The opening quote came to me as I reflected on a coaching session with a client the other day. It was apparent to me that a change of direction was in order, but because of the client’s focused, driven, and refusal-to-fail nature, they couldn’t see it.
Sometimes we get drunk on past success and ignore the signs that point to making changes.
Living your God-purpose often starts with a moment of honest alignment.
We can pour energy into good things that aren’t God things, drifting from the path He’s actually calling us to walk.
My experience of watching my purpose unfold as an ever-evolving journey becomes more transparent and more precise when I release my plans and surrender to His direction.
When we stop pushing our own way, God can finally lead us into the way He designed for us.
Final Thought
A powerful way to stay on the right path is to surrender your plans to God each morning and each night, asking that His will be done, not yours.
Also…choose to walk with mentors and spiritual partners who keep you grounded and help you see which of your life paths His light is shining the brightest.
Soul Search
Where might your plans and God’s purpose be out of alignment?
What small act of surrender is He asking of you today?
BTW…my client decided a new direction was in store…all I did was listen and ask a few questions.
“In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:6 (NIV)
