A few days ago I was talking with a fellow friend in recovery and he said, “living the recovery life is not a simple walk, but is is alot easier than walking in the hell we were walking in, during our past lives.” He went on to say how great it is to not have to lie and remember the lies as you continued to lie throughout the day. I mentioned how tiring it was to always have the next couple of day’s worth of “fixes” on hand and to not get “caught.” I also thought of how much my neck used to hurt as I lived my life constantly looking over my shoulder…this eventually turned into full blown paranoia.
I could go on and on and on and on and on…
I may not always be happy these days, but living sober and trying to do the next right thing by seeking and accepting “divine” guidance gives me peace and joy whether I want it or not.
Once again…nice plan God.
