Proverbs 27…who’s keeping your choices sharp?

Proverbs 27:17, “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” (NLT)

This past Tuesday I really got “sharpened.”

I had breakfast with one of my mentors, lunch with a fellow “man on mission,” and dinner with a fellow recovery person.  Although all of these friends are Christian each of the three conversations turned to our personal, daily battles with our flesh and the importance of having the armor of God on 24/7.

Being Christian does not remove us from being human.  And being human means we are given free will to do whatever we choose to do.  And since we become the choices we make in our lives it is paramount to “choose” to hang with others who are trying to make the same choices we are.

Iron sharpening iron…is just another way of saying, “if you want to be a winner, run with the winners.”
