Priorities-More 1st Things 1st

There are those who talk a great game about their priorities and there are those who live them.

Listing our priorities and living them are not easy.

I can remember helping a family who was in a total mess because of an addiction problem the husband/dad was struggling with.

I met with the husband/dad and he said to me, “Jay I would take a bullet for anyone in my family but I can’t whip this addiction.”

Most of us place “Family” at or near the top of our list of priorities.  But how many of us realize the best thing we can do for our family is to take care of ourselves?

I shared my priorities with you several days ago and you may remember, my number one priority is taking care of myself spiritually, mentally and physically.  When I’m not taking care of those three aspects of my “being,” I’m not worth much of anything to my other priorities.

imageAre you taking care of yourself?

God wants you to live your purpose and achieve your dreams but most importantly He wants you to take care of the body you’ve been blessed with.

I’ve witnessed far too many people chasing dreams with little to no discipline when it comes to self care.

The devil loves to get us to use our free will to destroy ourselves.

God wants us to use our free will so we can make ourselves better, and in turn, make the world around us better.

If you are struggling with your spiritual, mental or physical being, I suggest you start praying and asking for God’s help.

By the way…my friend did not change his behavior and his family ended up being destroyed by the bullet called “addiction.”

What is getting in your way of being everything you want to be for the people on your priority list?
