Priorities & 1st Things 1st

There are those who talk a great game about their priorities and there are those who live them.

— JJM —

It’s late 1987 and my world is in utter chaos and ruin.  My addiction to opiates and other mind numbing chemicals finally got the best of me and only by the grace of God and a handful of people who loved me enough to muster up the courage to confront me head on, am I alive and writing this message today.

Learning how to stay sober one day at a time is the most difficult thing I’ve had to master in my life.  Addiction is a bear.  When you cross the line into addiction it becomes a disease where no amount of will power will help you overcome it…I have an abundance of will power.

When I finally accepted the fact that I had a disease whose only cure was a spiritual cure I turned back around to the God I had shut out from my life and began asking him for help in all aspects of my life one day at a time.

imageSince August 9, 1987, I’ve remained absolutely, positively, unequivocally focused on starting and ending each day with God and including Him in on all my activities of the day.

I started this habit for one reason:  to stay sober.  Today I continue this habit to not only stay sober but because I know God wants it that way.

What is the one thing you need to absolutely, positively, unequivocally do every day in order to give you the best chance at living your purpose and accomplishing your dreams?

That, my friend is your number one priority.

Write it down and commit to living it a day at a time.
