Playing Field & Discipline

Self-discipline begins with the mastery of your thoughts. If you don't control what you think, you can't control what you do. Simply, self-discipline enables you to think first and act afterward.

— Napoleon Hill —

I have often been accused of being very disciplined.

I know myself well enough to know I am the most undisciplined person in the world and is why I created a playing field for my life many years ago.

The various elements that go into making my life playing field assist in my decision making process.  In essence my playing field helps prevent me from being lazy.

imageMy playing field reminds me of my purpose and what I stand for (guiding principles).

My playing field reminds me of the gifts God has given me.  Gifts are worthless if we don’t use them.

My playing field reminds me of my priorities and responsibilities.

My vision (dream with a plan) for my playing field provides me with a good reason to get up and seize every second of every day.

I would hate to see where I would be in my life if I hadn’t taken the time to build my life playing field many years ago.

My life playing field assists me in every decision I make today.  Go back and reflect on Hills’ quote at the start of this message.

How disciplined are you?

If you’ve committed to creating a playing field for your life and then living on that playing field, you will become disciplined whether you want to be or not…I write from experience.
