Weak to Strong

The weakest part of my life can become the strongest part of my faith.

The opening quote certainly rings true for me.

The weakest part of my life is my addiction problem.  Although I haven’t put a mind altering substance in my body since August 9, 1987, I know I’m one drink or fix away from bringing my addiction back to life.

I can remember asking an old-timer when I first got sober if there was a cure for my problem, and he said, “No, but you can have a daily reprieve from it if you turn your will and your life over to the care of God every day.”

I’ve been doing that every day, first thing in the morning, for almost thirty-two years.  That practice has grown the strength of my faith exponentially over the years.

The weakest part of my life has become the strongest part of my faith.

What weakness(es) do you need to turn over to God so He can make them the strongest part of your faith?

2 Corinthians 12:10, That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
