Moving Forward With Courage

Courage is not without fear. Courage is moving forward in spite of fear.

Reflection

Being somewhat of a quote freak, one of my all-time favorite quotes is, “Courage is fear that’s been prayed for.”

I have a team of over sixty people I pray for every morning.  All of them are facing challenges, whether with addiction, life, or health.

As I write, eighteen of them are battling the C-word.

Although each prayer team member is in a unique battle, I pray an all-inclusive prayer for God to give them the courage and strength to forge ahead.

That list also serves as a great reminder to me that my challenges are nothing compared to theirs.

Fact

When faced with a challenging situation, we will always have fear. But what we do with it makes all the difference…courage is definitely fear that’s been prayed for.

Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  (ESV)
