Calm

Calmness is the cradle of power.

Reflection

I’ve said this before, but my wife is the epitome of calmness. I truly believe God knows who he gives “special” people to because our son Jordan could not have landed in the arms of a better caretaker than Lori. Every day is a new adventure with Jordan. We never know what will happen and without calm, our lives would be pretty crazy.

I’ve yet to read anywhere in the Bible where we are instructed to be crazy, angry, or freaked out when faced with a challenge, but it does talk a lot about staying calm…

2 Timothy 4:5, “But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship.”

Ecclesiastes 7:9, “Do not be eager in your heart to be angry, for anger resides in the bosom of fools.”

Proverbs 14:17, “A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, and a man of evil devices hate.”

Proverbs 15:18, “A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but the slow to anger calms a dispute.”

Psalm 37:37, “Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace.”

Whatever you are up against, choose calm, and if you have trouble being calm ask God for His calming hand to steady you…it works!

Galatians 5:22, “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives:  love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
