Beauty from the Storms

Should you shield the canyons from the windstorms you would never see the true beauty of their carvings.

Life is an interesting process.

We all strive for our lives to be “smooth sailing,” free of wrinkles and splotches, but our most significant life lessons occur from navigating through turbulent waters. If we have no challenges, we have no growth, i.e., beauty from the turbulent times that created our carvings.

Today, when faced with a challenge, I try my best to thank God for the opportunity to get to know myself and live a bit better. This attitude calms me down and gives me focus, and the result is my character gets carved a bit more distinct and unique.

Romans 5:3-5, “More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”  (ESV)
