Perseverance and Handling The Unknown

The space between what you do know and what you're not meant to know--that's called faith.

— Steven Furtick —

Most human beings have this innate need to know what is going on and when they have trouble figuring things out they open themselves to all kinds of “wisdom,” “knowledge,” and frustration.

My hunch is that the need to know wasn’t that big of a problem thirty years ago and beyond as the internet gives billions of people worldwide the opportunity to be in the “know.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has delivered the world more unknowns than any other event in my lifetime.

Scientists are working day and night trying to figure it out–which they will.

Normal people are working day and night trying to figure it out–on the internet–which they won’t.

The opening quote by Steven Furtick led me to the random thoughts I just shared above.

If ever there was a situation where we need to allow the experts to be experts while we just remain normal people–it is now.

Trying to figure out something that we are incapable of figuring out leads to extreme frustration and stress…the devil does his best work when we are in those two emotional states.

If ever there was a time to let go of the unknown and turn it over to God–the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, eternal expert–it is now.

That’s called faith.

1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
