“The best way to gain self-confidence is to do what you are afraid to do.â€Â ~Unknown
I can so relate to this quote. I’ve shared with you all before about my first “real” public speaking experience. It was when I was a fifth year pharmacy student and I stuttered and stammered my way through a twenty minute presentation that still tries to haunt me to this day. It was horrible. I was shaking and sweating. My colleagues made fun of me.
Over the course of the next few weeks I will have spoken publicly for about forty hours. Yep, that’s right. That is over a day and a half!
How did I do it? How did I overcome my fear of speaking?
I just kept trying and practicing.
Success is often one try away…
