Direction

If you do not change direction, you might end up where you are heading.

— Lao Tzu —

Reflection

The truthful and straightforward nature of the opening quote makes it so powerful.

When reading it for a second time, my mind clung to the word direction and reminded me of one of my many weaknesses.

Have you ever changed direction and ended up right back where you started?

You may be thinking, “That’s not possible!” Well, I’m here to tell you that it is…come take a “GPSless” car ride with me in an unfamiliar area while I’m in an attitude that makes me unwilling to listen to my wife. 🙂

Question

How many of us change direction, but our hard-to-break habits circle us back to where we started?

How many of us are too proud to seek the wise counsel of others when we are trying to go in a new direction?

Fact

If you want to change direction with some aspect of your life, seek guidance from someone who’s already been there or has the wisdom to help guide you…even if it’s your spouse. 🙂

Proverbs 11:14, “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”
