Note to self…

Luke 6:37-38, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged.  Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.  Forgive, and you will be forgiven.  Give and it will be given to you.” (NIV)

These simple words said by Jesus, when turned into focused deliberate action sure takes the friction out of my life.

I don’t know about you all, but I need to remind myself about these qualities Jesus calls us to possess everytime life does something I don’t “approve” of.

Living life on life’s terms and incorporating Jesus’ ways into all I do is a process, not an event.

I know I will never “arrive” but each day I try my best to follow Jesus’ teachings; is a day I get closer to living the truth and farther away from living the lie.

I must never forget the strength of my faith walk is like working a muscle to make it stronger; if I don’t keep working it (my faith) it will get weak and before I know it I am judging, condemning, holding resentments and not giving, and the friction is back in my life.

I don’t know who needed to read this short and simple blog, but I know I needed to write it for me.

A great follow-up on this blog topic is to read and meditate on the words of Solomon in Proverbs 15.
