No Eggs

No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of another.

Wheel of Life God at Center-Relational PPTNo one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of another.  ~Charles Dickens

We continue looking at the relational component of our Wheel of Life.

The following is from my book In Search of PEACE:

As far back as I can remember, I’ve always had to have eggs for breakfast.

I remember a time when we were on a family vacation and we were staying at a hotel owned by my favorite chain.  I’d been staying at this particular brand of hotels ever since I started traveling during my years in business.

The reason I always chose this particular chain is because they serve eggs with their free breakfast.  But on the first morning of this particular stay there were no eggs.  I was distraught and made a quick decision to go to a diner down the street in order to take care of my egg habit.

While standing in line at this diner, I took particular interest in the gentleman standing in front of me in line.  I could tell he was homeless.  When the hostess asked if he needed to be seated, he told her, “No, all I want is a cup of ice water.”

He was given the ice water and he turned to head out the door.

Stay tuned for more on this story tomorrow…but in the meantime, chew on the scripture below.

Philippians 4:11-13 (MSG), “Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally.  I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances.  I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little.  I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty.  Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One (Jesus) who makes me who I am.”

Additional Scripture: Psalm 36:16-17, Proverbs 17:1, Proverbs 22:2, James 2:6, Galatians 2:9-10
