Die Empty

It's never too late to be what you might have been.

— George Eliot —

Yesterday morning I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, The Learning Leader Showby Ryan Hawk.

Hawk’s guest was Todd Henry, author of The Motivation CodeHenry’s book is on my “Read Soon” list but from his interview with Ryan Hawk, I gleaned that the book is founded on an abundance of research and focused on helping the readers uncover what motivates them.

During the podcast, Henry shared with Hawk an epiphany moment that took place in his life almost twenty years ago during a conference he was attending. One of the speakers asked the group to share where they thought the most valuable land in the world was located.

Of course, all of their thoughts went to locations around the world where vast amounts of oil or gold could be found. But they were all wrong.

The speaker told them that the most valuable land in the world is located in cemeteries because cemeteries are full of past lives that were laid to rest while holding onto very valuable ideas and dreams.

How many of you, because of having to spend more time with yourself than ever before, have had visions of bringing a long-held dream to reality?

2021 is just around the corner.

Why not make 2021 the year you decide to do something with your life that you’ve been putting off…something that will add value to the world or to one life?

Right smack dab in the middle of this crazy pandemic a friend of mine and a reader of EagleLaunch launched her own business.

A couple of weeks ago she excitingly texted me letting me know that she had landed her first BIG account.

I don’t think she would mind me telling you that she’s a tad bit beyond the halfway point in her life.

If you are wondering…”Can I do this?”

BOOM…there’s your sign.

Todd Henry’s motto is “Die Empty.”

I like that.

Go to your grave with nothing left because you laid it all out on the playing field of life.

And when you go to your grave you will add no additional value to the land of abundance, the land of untapped dreams and ideas, the land we call the cemetery.

Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Good message and really good thing you didn’t use my name and then claim that I am a “tad bit beyond the halfway point in her life…” LOL

Thanks so much for what you do up to and including EagleLaunch. Truly appreciate Lori and Jordan sharing you with the rest of us.
