National Recovery Month – Day 26 – Guard Your Recovery

What you feed grows. What you starves dies.

— Unknown —

Reflection

Recovery from any bad habit deserves protection.

Complacency can quietly convince us that because we’re doing well, we no longer need the practices that helped us get well.

Prayer slips.

Meetings disappear.

Connections weaken.

Gratitude fades.

Old thinking returns.

Recovery isn’t something we graduate from; it’s a way of living.

I don’t need to live afraid of relapse, but I do need to remain awake. What we consistently feed grows stronger. Feed faith. Feed gratitude. Feed healthy relationships. Feed the habits that keep you spiritually alive.

Soul Search

What practice that strengthens my faith-walk have I begun taking for granted?

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23
