I’ve lived in the beautiful village of Covington, Ohio for most of my life, but for a few very long years during my drug addiction and recovery, I lived in a terrible place called… the PAST. As a resident of the PAST, my thoughts were constantly consumed with:
- What if?
- Why didn’t I?
- I should have…
- I should not have…
And on and on, reliving every mistake and bad decision I ever made, over and over again. It was exhausting and it was miserable.
If you’re living in that place right now, I’m here to tell you that you can move out too, if you name and claim those thoughts, then dump them and refuse to pick them back up. It isn’t easy. It takes a lot of self-reflection, a lot of hard work, and a lot of asking for God’s help, but you can move into the PRESENT and dream about your FUTURE if you’re willing.
