Motives

We justify our actions by appearances, God examines our motives.

— Proverbs 21:2 —

I’m a driven, goal-oriented person and for those of us with that pedigree we need to always check our motives because it is very easy to slip into the world of “it’s all about me.”

Maybe it’s just me…

Years ago, in order to curtail my “all about me” tendencies I defined my “WHY.”

My “WHY” is my purpose for living.

My Purpose:  “Through my gifts of teaching, leading and inspiring, I will help others become more than they once thought possible.”

Everything I do is grounded and rooted in my purpose which causes me to always check my motives.

God always knows our motives and I believe he is saddened and disappointed with those of us who speak and appear to be all about what we speak and appear to be, but He knows that deep down it’s really all about us.

I always write from experience.
